Philippines Working Holiday Visa helps young and qualified people come to New Zealand. You can apply for this visa if you’re a citizen of the Republic of the Philippines and you can demonstrate at least NZ $4,200 to live on during your stay. While you’re in New Zealand, you can study and work while you enjoy your holiday. You can stay up to 12 months with this visa. The Immigration New Zealand maintains an annual cap which is around 100 visas per year.

With this visa you can

  • Work in New Zealand for up to 12 months.
  • Study or train for up to 6 months in total.

This visa is only for the citizens of the Republic of the Philippines. This visa will allow the applicants to live in New Zealand up to 12 months, study, work and enjoy a holiday.

Genuine intentions: You must genuinely intend to meet the conditions of your visa

Age: You must be 18 – 30

Citizenship: You must be a citizen of the country this visa is for

Onward travel: You must have a ticket to leave New Zealand or enough money to buy one

Funds: You must have enough money to live on while you’re in New Zealand

Previous approvals: You must not have had approval for a New Zealand Working Holiday Visa before

Education: You must have a tertiary qualification

English language: You must be able to speak English

Medical insurance: You must have full medical insurance for the length of your stay.

Step 1- You apply online

You must apply online and in English.

Step 2 – Evidence to support your application

If you need to provide any evidence, Immigration NZ will send you an email explaining what you need to do. If you are worried about receiving emails, It is a good idea to check your junk mail settings.

Step 3 – Decision about your application

If your visa application is approved, Immigration New Zealand will contact you by email advising that the status of your application has changed. You can then log in to Online Services to check the status of your application. If approved, you will be issued an eVisa.

If there is anything else you need to do, Immigration NZ will be in touch.

If you are in New Zealand, and your current temporary visa expires before your new visa is granted, you will be issued an interim visa to let you stay in New Zealand lawfully.

The application fee is NZD$280

This is the charge for Immigration New Zealand to process your application. Immigration New Zealand does not refund application costs if your visa application is rejected. A non-refundable immigration levy is charged and is included in the cost. You can pay for your application online by an accepted credit or debit card. An International Visitor Conservation and Tourism Levy (IVL) of NZD $35 is charged and is included in the cost.

You must note the following points before you apply to this visa:

  • You can only apply for a Working Holiday Visa online.
  • You can’t accept a full-time permanent job for the same employer for more than 3 months.
  • You can’t bring you family members in New Zealand. If they want to visit New Zealand, they must apply for appropriate visas.
