You must apply online and in English.
Step 2 – Providing supporting documents
Immigration New Zealand may ask for a number of supporting documents. You must provide all documents as by the Department.
If you are worried about receiving emails, it is important to check your junk folder.
Step 3 – Decision about your application
If your visa application is positive, Immigration New Zealand will contact you by email advising that the status of your application has changed. You can then log in to Online Services to check the status of your application. If approved, you will be granted an eVisa. You may not get a sticker visa under this visa category. If there is anything else you need to do, Immigration NZ will be in touch.
If you are already New Zealand, and your current TR visa is expiring before your new visa is approved, Immigration New Zealand will normally issue you an interim visa to let you stay in New Zealand legitimately.
Step 3 – Decision about your application
If your visa application is approved, Immigration NZ will contact you by email advising that the status of your application has changed. You can then log in to Online Services to check the status of your application. If approved, you will be granted an eVisa. You will be contacted by the immigration department if anything else is required.
If you are in New Zealand, and your current temporary visa expires before your new visa is granted, you might be issued an interim visa to let you stay in New Zealand lawfully.

Application Fee: NZD$280
This is the charge for Immigration New Zealand to process your application. Immigration New Zealand does not refund application costs if your visa application is rejected. A non-refundable immigration levy is charged and is included in the cost. An International Visitor Conservation and Tourism Levy (IVL) of NZD $35 is charged and is added in the cost.
