The permanent residency pathway for Canadian health-care staff is for those who have worked in the country’s health-care sector. Applicants for this program must meet certain requirements in order to obtain permanent residency, such as working for a certain number of hours and having experience in specific occupations. You may also be asked to communicate directly with patients for medical reasons.
You are entitled to mention your family members who live in Canada in your application, but they must meet all of the conditions for permanent residency in terms of health, finances, and criminal records.
In addition, if you want to support family members who live outside of Canada, you must announce them on your form or application. Also, if a refugee applicant contracted COVID-19 in Canada and died as a result, their spouse or common-law partner is eligible to apply.
If you want to live in Quebec, the road to permanent residency for health-care employees in Canada is slightly different.
For refuge claimants who served in the health-care sector during the COVID-19 pandemic, the federal government has opened a new road to permanent residency. For people who live in Quebec, the route is slightly different.
