Canada Federal Skilled Trades Program

Another scheme for skilled workers who want to become permanent residents of Canada is this one. If you work in a skilled profession, you might be eligible for this program.

To be qualified, you must meet the basic criteria, which include the language levels needed for each language skill. The value of professional work experience is critical in this case. You must consult the National Occupational Classification (NOC).

The next factor to consider is your qualifications. While there are no specific educational requirements for this programme, having them will give you an advantage. You must also have evidence of sufficient funds to ensure that you will be able to support yourself in Canada.

It’s likely that you’ll have to travel to the province to be evaluated for your trade abilities. For specific skill trades, each province has its own set of specifications.

The Federal Skilled Trades Program is for skilled workers who want to become permanent residents based on being qualified in a skilled trade.

To qualify you must fall into either of these groups:

Major Group 72, mechanical, electrical, and building trades
Major Group 73, repair and machinery service trades
Major Group 82, natural resources, agriculture, and associated production supervisors and professional employment
Managers and central control operators in Major Group 92 (processing, production, and utilities).
Chefs and cooks, Minor Group 632
Butchers and bakers, Minor Group 633

The major NOC groups are subdivided into different occupations, and they are all skill type B.

You must show that you performed the duties set out in the lead statement of the occupational description in the NOC. This includes all the essential duties and most of the main duties listed.
