The Bridging Visa B is a temporary visa that may be granted with single or multiple entry travel and will be valid for a specified time. If the applicant’s travel facility is over or does not have satisfactory validity remaining to cover applicant’s proposed journey, then he or she will be required to apply for and be granted a new Bridging Visa B prior to the departure of Australia.

You can check if you already hold a Bridging visa B (BVB) with VEVO.

A distinct application for a BVB may be required where you have submitted for judicial review.  Applying to change conditions on your BVB may not be possible.  If you wish to change visa conditions, then you can consider to apply for a Bridging visa A (BVA).

You are not eligible to use a bridging visa while you wait for your citizenship application to be approved.

The Bridging Visa B subclass 020 is mainly a connecting visa that allows the applicant to continue staying lawfully in Australia until the decision for a substantive visa is finalized.

You might be allowed to work in Australia if the substantive visa you had or the visa you applied for permits you to work.  Your grant letter will tell you about the conditions that apply to your BVB.

if there was restriction on work in your previous visa conditions then you will not be able to work with a BVB status.  See if you have work restrictions in VEVO.

If you are the holder of a BVB that does not permit work, and you are seeking to change conditions, you will need to consider applying for a BVA.  As part of this process you will need to demonstrate that you are in financial hardship.
