Experienced entrepreneurs and high-demand foreign workers can get permanent residency through the British Colombia Provincial Nominee, BC PNP Entrepreneur program. You must be skilled and qualified enough to meet the program requirements.

You must be able to show that you can actively set up, manage and run a business. You should have an English or French proficiency.

The BC PNP Entrepreneur Immigration-Regional Pilot( EI- Regional Pilot) is yet another program which invites entrepreneurs worldwide to establish their business in regional communities.

This is important in meeting the community’s economic development needs and also encourages investments in areas outside the urban. 

If you think you can meet the criteria, you should begin the process by registration and an application. Begin by finding a business opportunity and then investing. You will receive a score based on your eligibility and if you fully fit the criteria.

Who is it For?

If you want to immigrate to B.C. and are ready to invest in and actively manage a valid business here, you may qualify for our Entrepreneur Immigration – Base Category. 

For the regional pilot program you must:

Demonstrate your intention to actively manage the business or you have been actively managing a business in B.C.

How to Qualify

To qualify, you must:

  • have a personal net worth of at least CAD$600,000
  • demonstrate business and/or management experience
  • have, or be eligible for, legal immigration status in Canada
  • have basic English or French language proficiency equivalent to Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) level 4 or higher

You must also have been lawfully admitted in the country where you currently reside.

For Regional Pilot Program you must :

  • Be a part of active management business
  • Residency (you will reside in the boundaries of the community supported your registration and application)
  • You have an immigration eligibility
  • Personal net worth of $300,000.
  • Business owner or manager experience proof
  • Language proficient
  • Education

Process

The first step is to research B.C.’s economy and regions to find a business opportunity. The WorkBC website provides comprehensive information and data about B.C.’s labour market and industries. When you have a business idea, please create a profile and a registration with the online application and registration system, BCPNP Online. Include a business concept.

For the regional pilot program, you will have up to 120 days (approximately four months) from the date you are invited apply to submit a complete application including a verification report of your net worth, all supporting documents and a comprehensive business plan.

Your application must be submitted through My Dashboard on the application site.

Next, your application will be assessed and you will be contacted if you have any concerns regarding your application and you will be called for an interview.

If your interview is successful, you will be given a performance agreement to sign. After this, you will be allowed to arrive in B.C with a valid work permit. From here on, you will have about 610 days to implement your business plans.

More Information

Following his engagement in the business activity and achievement of the performance agreement, the entrepreneur must submit a final report to the BC PNP between 550 to 610 days (approximately 18 to 20 months) after the issuance date of your valid work permit. 

If the review is positive, the applicant is nominated to apply for permanent residence.
